JEF makers competition

The awards in the JEF makers competition are awarded by a specially composed jury of film-makers and by the audience. The awards are handed out during the JEF makers day. The three best films will receive a JEF award designed by Ronny & Johny.

Ammen Simpson Ogedengbe

Ammen graduated from RITCS, School of Arts (Brussels) in 2020. Because of her love for honest and passionate cinema, she is always inspired by stories from her own youth and for social themes. With the combination of both, she made her master film 'Wildflowers'. An autobiographical film about a broken group of children who spend their time together at a boarding school, a story about 'the children of never'.

Mathias Sourbron

Mathias Sourbron (BE) has been working as talent manager and producer at Hakuna Academy since 2014. At Oi Mundo casting he worked as multidisciplinary casting director on among others Patser, Spider in the web, Over water ... Mathias discovers, motivates and supports talent with lots of dedication.

Maï Calon

Maï Calon is a filmmaker and illustrator. In her audiovisual work she often focuses on sound and rhythm. Maï graduated from KASK in 2018 with a master's degree in Audiovisual Arts- Animated Film. She is currently writing a new short film. She also leads a workshop at JEF, where she inspires children and young people with film.
